Last year, the contracts for the joint revitalization project in Cäcilienstraße were signed. The goal of the Cologne Urban Development Committee was to make the exposed location of the former parking garage Schildergasse a public area again. In an exclusive cooperation with HOCHTIEF Contipark realized the revitalization project. The former aboveground garage was converted into an underground garage with four underground levels. "It was very important to us and especially the city of Cologne that no valuable parking space gets lost and yet the place can be used by visitors and residents s as living space. With the hotel complex, the catering and retail area on the ground floor and the integrated underground car park, we have succeeded in optimally combining both requirements.", says Michael Kesseler, Managing Director of the CONTIPARK Group.

The underground car park is spread over four levels and comprises 362 parking spaces. The underground car park in the Cäcilienstraße 32 is one of the most modern of its kind: in addition to modern and environmentally friendly LED lighting technology, the garage also offers parking and charging stations for electric vehicles. Another novelty is the technology used: The single-user registration for an improved vehicle line, as well as the modern parking handling system with integrated connection to our control center in Berlin, make this underground car park a highly efficient high-tech product.

The CONTIPARK underground car park is expected to be ready for use in spring 2018. The hotel complex will be completed at the end of 2018.
