Cologne car park “Opern Passagen” reopens after refurbishment

Since Monday, 09.08.2021, the Contipark car park “Opern Passagen” has been fully available to car drivers again. It was closed at the end of March for extensive renovation work.

The refurbished car park impresses with both a modern colour concept and new LED lighting, which sustainably and efficiently reduces electricity consumption. The modernisation has created a bright and friendly ambience with a feel-good factor. Remaining work is currently being carried out.

The multi-storey car park “Opern Passagen” has 550 parking spaces distributed over three levels, including six parking spaces for people with restricted mobility and 16 parking spaces especially for women. It is part of the shopping arcade of the same name in Cologne’s city centre, which is currently also being extensively modernised and will be reopened in October. The multi-storey car park can be accessed via Schwertnergasse. It is wheelchair accessible and open around the clock. It also houses a station of the car-sharing provider cambio.

The regular parking fee is 1 euro for the first 30 minutes, 1.50 euros for the second 30 minutes and 2 euros for each additional hour or part thereof. A 24-hour ticket costs 25 euros. With the P Card, Contipark’s free customer card, drivers can park for much less. For example, with the P Card, the first 30 minutes cost 0.70 euros, the second 30 minutes cost 1 euro and each additional hour or part thereof costs 1.70 euros. The 24-hour ticket costs 8 euros. In addition, a theatre tariff is offered: Theatre-goers can park for 5 euros from 4pm to 2am on Mondays to Saturdays. On Sundays, parking also costs a flat rate of 5 euros.
